In the Spirit of Giving

Established in 1975, the Methodist Medical Center Foundation has generated assets of more than $18 million to be used in support of services to patients and families at Methodist Medical Center, and to advance community wellness and health education.

Generous contributors to the Foundation have made possible such things as Hospice Services, Camp Courageous Bereavement Camp for Children, College of Nursing Scholarship funds and program development, electronic connectivity for the in-school health program, Pastoral Care training and services, renovation of the hospital chapel, medical research programs, and numerous capital equipment upgrades.

The Foundation also is the beneficiary of the volunteer service provided by the Service League of Methodist Medical Center. The Service League volunteers run the hospital Gift Shop and Flower Shop, hold an annual Gift Show, and conduct several special sales throughout the year that generate proceeds for the hospital. The Service League has funded the mobile mammography unit, the Learning Center for the College of Nursing, new warmers for the nursery, patient recliners, and many other hospital needs that could not have been supported without their help. Over their history, the Service League has raised more than $5 million for the hospital

Camp Courageous will be held on October 3, 2009.  Registration is due September 18.  Please view our brochureor print to complete the registration form.

Legacy Gift to the Service League Provides World-Class Nursing Training

Students learn essential skills hands-on at the Elizabeth Glos Learning Resource Center.

Elizabeth Glos, a longtime member of the Methodist Medical Center Service League, determined that she wanted to leave a lasting legacy.

In her will she made a bequest of $300,000 to the Methodist Service League. This money was invested by her fellow Service League Members in a unique Learning Resource Center that is used by the students at the Methodist College of Nursing.  Click here for more.
